Add to that a massive growth in electronic messages such as e-mail and instant messaging, and the management of electronic records has become a critical business issue. How that information is managed has significant business, technology and legal ramifications.
Wherever information is created, delivered or stored; that information can be determined to be a record that has value to an organisation and needs to be managed.
We focus on helping clients maximise the value of their information assets, while meeting retention and information management requirements. This is achieved through an assessment of current practices, workflow and systems.
Our consultants help clients achieve clarity about their information environment thus minimising the risks and maximising the benefits of information assets.

A party involved in pending or potential litigation is best advised to go through an identification process in order to establish the custodians and locations of all potentially relevant data to the matter. A party involved in pending or potential litigation is best advised to go through an identification process in order to establish the custodians and locations of all potentially relevant data to the matter. During identification, key personnel are identified; relevant documents and data are catalogued and the sources and locations of this data are established. Once completed, a litigation hold document is drafted and distributed to all relevant parties.
The types of data relevant to the litigation must be identified and a decision made as to whether all other types may be excluded from a search. The type of document may also be established and can be negotiated by legal counsel prior to collection.
An important consideration is whether the process should be based on department, geography, job function or other criteria. In addition to specific individuals, entire departments or divisions may be involved in subject matters.
As companies' IT infrastructures vary widely, an accurate assessment of the various data sources is essential to the success of an eDiscovery. A clear picture of the type and location of all data throughout the organisation involves the review of the following data stores:
- File and e-mail servers
- Document management systems, back-up tapes, financial systems, disaster recovery systems, NAS and SANs
- Desktops, laptops, PDAs and mobile phones
- External hard drives, USB devices, flash drives, CD-ROMs and DVDs

I-Analysis has experience in handling very large and complex data collection and preservation projects. Our forensically sound methods and defensible processes constantly provide reassurance to our clients.
We have the capability to identify and collect evidence from the majority of electronic sources. We help clients to cost-effectively manage the collection, preservation and extraction from active, near-line, offline and password-protected electronic sources from a wide range of devices and media types.
Our efficient approach to data collection and preservation enables clients to only view relevant information in order to narrow the amount of data for review which substantially reduces the overall risk and overall cost of eDiscovery.
We have extensive regional experience and our multi-lingual consultants have been deployed to more than 8 Asian countries since 2006.

With advanced filtering and search techniques, I-Analysis can reduce the burden of reviewing vast amounts of electronic data. Our tools extract full text and metadata from hundreds of file formats and the data filtering can be customised to match the needs of each case.
Our pre-processing capability enables users to interactively filter data by custodian, date, file type and size before actually processing the data. This approach significantly reduces processing and review costs and enables clients to better understand their data and to manage costs and timelines.
We automatically de-duplicate data across multiple data stores and across the entire data set to reduce analysis and review time. Every reference to every document is tracked, preserved, and available for reporting purposes. Near duplicates are highlighted within the data set for closer analysis by users at a later stage.

The advanced analytics features allow for a more transparent and defensible search process by providing users with:
- A list of keyword variations matching each query
- Visibility into matching keyword variations prior to running a search
- Real-time search result filtering
- The ability to run large numbers of queries
- The ability to construct advanced searches based on custodian, sender, recipient, direction, subject, attachment names, attachment type and date range among others
- Support for stemming, Boolean, wildcard, fuzzy and proximity searches
- Automatic grouping of search results based on various metadata fields such as tag, sender domain, sender group, sender name or recipient domain for example.
- Hit-highlighting in messages, attachments, and files allowing users to quickly find what they are looking for
- Topic clustering to automatically organise documents into specific topics for quicker analysis
- People analytics to determine individual and group to- group communications within a company or to customers, suppliers, and partners
- Term analytics analyses noun phrases, which help users, uncover secret project names and code words that may be relevant to a case or investigation.
- Comprehensive reporting on all search criteria providing a defensible audit trail

Our eDiscovery platform is designed to accelerate the document review process, improve reviewer consistency and support a flexible eDiscovery workflow. This approach vastly reduces the time and cost associated with this stage of eDiscovery projects and provides the ability to better manage project costs.
Our platform delivers interactive analysis and culling capabilities to reduce large datasets to much smaller, more relevant ones and offers an integrated and flexible e-discovery workflow, from processing to review and production, eliminating the costly movement of data across multiple, disparate tools.
Built-in are comprehensive case management, auditing and reporting capabilities, enabling users to monitor case progress in real-time.
The native viewer allows for the review of documents in their native format without requiring each application to be loaded on a reviewer’s workstation. Both text search and hit highlighting within documents are also available, increasing reviewer productivity.
The redaction feature enables reviewers to quickly and easily redact documents in multiple colours, apply codes and verify these prior to production. Reviewers have ability to auto-redact keywords, phrases, and personal information. Additionally, a privilege log can be produced for opposing counsel’s review.
Nested folders give users the ability to organise document sets for processing, search and analysis, review, and production into access controlled folders. These customisable folders provide accurate document counts, simplifying the management of review sets and enabling a flexible and collaborative workflow.

Production is when you hand over the data to opposing counsel and we ensure the timely delivery of your data set in your preferred format.
Our production capability allows for native and image-based production depending on what was agreed between parties. We can produce documents in native, TIFF, or PDF formats with our without metadata. Our flexible export options allow for multiple metadata formats (EDRM XML, DAT, CSV, etc.), “reduping” of data by custodian and preservation of original folder hierarchies.
Throughout each matter, the Project Manager’s role is to assist in identifying technical specifications and formats at the beginning of each project to ensure that your production requirements are met.
